How Does The Website Copywriting Process Work?

When I am tasked with a website copywriting project I start with the branding component. This means we sit together, or exchange emails, and conceptualise content that tells your business story. We differentiate your business from your competition with compelling copy that sells your product or service. We also have a look at the web layout we need to fill on every website copywriting project, to make sure function and form are aligned and that the final product works successfully.

A brief is taken

A quote is generated

A 50% deposit is required

A first draft of your content is prepared and returned to you for changes

Changes are implemented and content is uploaded to the website

The balance of payment is due within 7 days of the work being signed off.

If you hire me for a website copywriting project we can correspond telephonically, over e-mail or Skype, or in-person for knowledge sharing and changes. I also understand that you may require more changes once you see the content live on a website or when other people in your organisation give their input and I am happy to work around this.

Website Copywriting to Generate Leads and Increase Sales

Once we have completed the branding component we need to ensure that the message being transmitted over your website matches what people are looking for. You can expect to see short paragraphs, subheadings and bolded keywords as well as lots of call-to-action to encourage your readers to get in touch with you.

Website Copywriting That Is Indexed by Search Engines

It’s all well and good having a website with lovely, reader-friendly content but, to get to the readers, the search engines have to know you’re there. To make sure your website is visible to search engines and that it comes up when potential clients are searching for your products and services, I apply search engine optimisation principals to your website.

Search engine optimisation has had its fair share of negative feedback, but mostly because the methods being implemented are poorly executed. I write for readers first and search engines second. So your content will always make sense to a human and you may expect some resistance from me if you request an unnatural keyword to be used in your copy.
